Dear Mother Nature

March and so far April have been a little strange.  Very warm, sunny days that quickly turn to freezing nights and frost.  A day full of rain, hail, thunderstorms, and even an earthquake!  I fear old Mother Nature is upset!

 

Dear Mother Nature, I’m just wondering why

so many different things are falling from the sky!

It’s snowing!  It’s raining!  Listen to that wind!

Now the earth is shaking, when will this end?

I do love the sun, look at it shine!

When it is out, I’m feeling just fine.

If you are angry, I do understand.

We have mistreated this wonderful land.

I wish you would smile, you really are the best.

Maybe a vacation and much needed rest?

Jury Duty

I am trying to keep my daily posts silly and light.  But, my daughter just got a jury summons.  This is upsetting for two reasons.  She has extreme social anxiety and she is so freaking out she is actually sick.  The second reason is there is a pandemic going on!  Yes, lets stick a few hundred people into a room together right now.  Great idea.

I know the trials wait for no man, but I really believe we should be able to say NO to this.  All it takes is one of those people to be sick and it will spread through the jurors like mad.  March was a very stressful month and it looks like April is going to be as well!  Our job is gone, so no idea how we will even afford the gas to go back and forth to court.  It’s 18 miles one way.  One car and one driver (me) and my car has issues and may not even run long enough to do this.  We did check on a cab or Uber and it would cost way more per day than she would make for jury duty.  Average was about $100/day for a round trip.

Tomorrow I will go back to silly poems.  Today, I am just too frustrated and discouraged at all the problems coming at us one after another!
